Editor's Commentary - New Year's Resolution - 8 January 2008

by Christina Li

This month is the third birthday of uiGarden. From 2005 to 2008, uiGarden have had a lot of support from many user experience practitioners and researchers. We would like to give great thanks to all the authors, volunteers and readers. Thank you and Happy New Year!

For the new year’s resolution, uiGarden is going to have a new face. We think it’s time to bring it more up to date by implementing web 2.0 principles. In addition, we are thinking of adapting Ajax technology for the translations. We would be grateful if anybody who read this message could give us a hand with our redesign work.

In the new year, we plan to have more original content, i.e. articles not published elsewhere, and more artciles from Chinese authors. We also plan to improve our catagories and to have special columns on popular topics.

In 2007, we have successfully translated About Face 3 by Alan Cooper as our first attempt to the publishing in paper form. The book is going to be published in China very soon. In addition, we are going to translate and publish Don Norman’s latest book – The Design of Future Things in China. We will keep you informed of the progress.

As usual, it is our honor to provide you excellent articles across the world. We thank you for your support and look forward to your feedback. If you have any queries or would like to contribute, please do not hesitate to contact us through the contact form.
