Great list Christina - thanks for putting that together!

I have a question regarding standards? We are in the middle of an effort to develop company user interface standards. It is a difficult task to complete while our small group is working on various IA and usability projects. I'm interested in hearing of the experiences of others who have been involved in writing standards documents. How long did it take? How many people worked on it? Were you working on other projects at the same time? Were you able to complete the standards? Do you feel it was a valuable exercise - are people using your standards?

Just my experience... not necessarily right.

How long did it take?
Was a going on job in my previous company.
How many people worked on it?
About 2 or 3
Were you working on other projects at the same time?
Yes.
Were you able to complete the standards?
No....it seems that I can never finish it...
Do you feel it was a valuable exercise - are people using your standards?
Hmm...probably not. Designers were a bit reluctant to follow all standards when they are actually doing the design. Only some of them, which are probably common sense in a way were remembered.

Welcome Srini!

Sorry I took so long to notice you but I was away from the computer! Yes sometimes I am away from my computer and then I feel totally lost - especially when I want to look up flights or train times!
