Hello,

Does anyone have a list of available screen readers that read Chinese or can point me at one?

Christina,
Did you not write a list of them for a paper we did? That might be useful here for Henny,

Yes, Eleanor, that's what I mean. But I don't have it at office and last night fell asleep right after dinner....still jetlagging..

Do you have it at hand? If not, I can post it here this evening.

Henny,

So sorry for the delay! Below is the list of some popular Chinese screen readers:

Yang-guang by China Braille Press

Blue Sky Voice Control System and Wireless Screen Reader by Harbin E-time Digital Technology Development Co. Ltd

Yong-de screen-reader by Mr. Wang Yong-de (a blind man himself)

Tsing-hua shuang-xing by Prof. Mao Yuhang (Prof. Mao is the one who created the very first software f/t blind in China)

Bei-ji-guang by Dr. Zhu Xiao-yan (also from Tsinghua University and she got involved in this area by a request from a Japanese person)

Fu-yin by Mr. Zhu Shuang-liu (a blind man working at Tongji University in Shanghai)

Hope that helps!

Christina

I am at work:-( no access to my home computer. BT has not given me internet access yet. I spent all night last night trying to get connected. Its driving me crazy and I am at meetings all day at work.

Glad that you found it, C.

Henny, we should meet sometime! Christina, would you like to come along? Henny, can we meet you somewhere?
